Today, evolutionary theory is ubiquitous in our secular education systems. This book is a critical view of neo-Darwinism, which is the dominant dogma throughout secular higher education and K-12 public education. The criticisms of neo-Darwinism cited in this book are from various overlapping groups of: scientists, atheists, philosophers and university professors. If you are looking for a resource that will give you sound arguments and facts, that will aid you in thinking critically about Darwinism; this is the resource for you.
Evolution is no longer a biological theory. It permeates the natural sciences, social sciences and philosophy. It has become a meta-theory. Whenever scientific data are absent, both natural and social scientists resort to narrative as a super glue. Evolution is open to criticism!

WHAT THIS BOOK CONTAINS
Researched over a period of 7 years, this book contains over 275 sources, from scientists, researchers, philosophers, biologists and more. Many of these citations are from scientific journals and books written by professors.
This book looks at the major assumptions (what I call myths) about the theory of evolution. The first Chapter is: Charles Darwin Created a Theory Called Evolution. The truth is that Darwin did not create a theory called evolution. It was a philosopher named Spencer who advanced the term evolution in 1852. Darwin did not publish his book The Origin of Species until 1859; in that book, Darwin never used the word evolution! Darwin wrote in his autobiography, "Nevertheless I am not conscious of having profited in my own work by Spencer's writings. . . they do not aid one in predicting what will happen in any particular case" (Barlow, 2005, p. 90).
Darwin did not even use the word evolution, until his 6th and final edition of On the Origin of Species (1889).
Herbert Spencer first published the term evolution in 1852. Darwin did not use the term evolution until his 6th and final edition of On the Origin of Species (1889). Darwin resisted using the term evolution, which Spencer created, for 37 years!
Darwin was correct in criticizing Spencer's theory of evolution as being unscientific and lacking in the ability to "predict what will happen in any particular case."The philosopher Karl Popper calls evolution "a metaphysical research programme [sic]." (1982, p. 168). In other words, Popper is saying that evolution, as it stands today is not testable; evolution is a philosophical way of thinking.
These are just a few examples of the historical and scientific sources contained in the book.
WHY I WROTE THIS BOOK
People ask me, why would someone who has a Ph.D. in Communication, be interested in criticizing the theory of evolution? The reason is that evolution, as it is taught today in grades K-12 and at the university level, is no longer a biological theory. Evolution has become a meta-theory, or a theory of theories. Evolution can be found almost everywhere in academic circles: natural sciences, social sciences and philosophy. Committed Darwinists even try to explain human communication and language in terms of evolutionary theory. At this point they have received my attention, because nothing can be farther from the truth.
Evolution cannot explain human language, verbal or non-verbal human communication, or semiotics. The advent of human communication was never observed by a single Darwinist! It is not possible to go back in time to run an experiment or observe the first words that were spoken by humans! The only evidence that Darwinists have regarding human language and inter-personal communication is narrative and stories that they create - in order to try to weave together an explanation. If a Darwinist tells a compelling story about how humans spoke their first words to each other, then non-critical thinkers accept the story, without challenging it!
This is problematic, because evolution, a theory which began in biology, has now become a theory of everything.
As a communication scholar I am throwing the red flag on the field! Evolution cannot explain language and it clearly cannot explain the existence of the human mind. Evolution is a strictly materialist and reductionist theory: language, and mind both have a metaphysical component, they defy conventional means of empirical observation. Scientists cannot even agree what the mind is, how to define it, or how to study it!
